Bill currently teaches courses at Portland Community College in the Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) Department.
In the Fall term at PCC Bill teaches CADD 100: CADD Orientation. This course introduces students to product types and manufacturing operations through visual media and/or facility tours. It covers fundamentals of technical report writing, memos, and resume development with instruction in written expression for industry. The course includes internet research of technical issues related to drafting and design, and an orientation to the overall CADD industry—its careers, opportunities, jobs, and required skills. Various related exercises are assigned for student learning.
In the Winter and Spring terms at PCC Bill teaches CADD 245: Product Design & Development Fundamentals. This course introduces students to the basic knowledge and the practical application of industry standard product design and development (PD&D) processes and their associated tools and issues. A variety of PD&D overview topics are covered and a variety of related design exercises are assigned for student learning.
